Web Summit Rio 2023 concluded surpassing the expectations of the event organizers. Held from May 1st to 4th in Rio de Janeiro, the first edition of Web Summit outside of Europe was a major success, and the numbers speak for themselves: there were over 21,000 participants from 91 countries – a record in the event's history – with 974 startups from 28 countries.

Co-founder and CEO of Web Summit, Paddy Cosgrave, expressed excitement about the performance of this inaugural event in the country: "Brazil is one of the global key players, and the tech world came to Rio to witness what is happening in Brazil and Latin America. To have such international presence in the first year is extraordinary and surprising," he stated.
