Right next to Silicon Valley, Stanford ends up attracting some of the brightest and most creative minds of our time, and drives the creation of dozens of startups each year. Among its alumni and faculty are founders of tech giants such as HP, Twitter, Yahoo and Google!


The university, by the way, is one of the “mothers” of the internet. In the 1970s, it was one of four US institutions linked to the ARPANET system, considered the precursor to the internet. Among its professors, 19 received the Turing prize, considered the Nobel of computing.
